Description

This hands-on workshop for Mac and PC users will cover beginning to intermediate functions, including licensing, basic set-up options, projects from creation to completion, and translation and terminology functions. Attendees must bring their own laptops with the latest version of Wordfast Pro5 already installed.

You can install a free trial version of Wordfast Pro5 and use it during the workshop. However, the trial version will only work for 30 days, so do not install your free trial before May 17th. We recommend that you install your free trial version a few days before the workshop, so that you can continue using it afterwards and practice using the skills you'll learn in this workshop. Download free Wordfast Pro5 trial.

Workshop participants will be entitled to a 30% discount on the purchase of a Wordfast Pro5 license.

We have chosen to offer a Wordfast workshop because Wordfast offers both Mac and Windows versions, whereas other computer-assisted translation (CAT) tools will only run on Windows, so Mac users can’t use them without purchasing and installing Windows on their computers. However, the various CAT tools have numerous common features, so you’ll be able to apply the skills you’ll learn in this workshop if you decide to use a different CAT tool.

Participation will be limited to 15 people per 4-hour session in order to ensure that everyone can receive ample attention from the instructor and gain hands-on experience using this CAT tool. Both sessions will be the same, so please do not register for more than one session. If your preferred session is full, please try registering for the other session.

ATA-certified participants will receive 4 hours of continuing education credit.

Early-bird registration extended until June 8th. Don't miss this opportunity to register at the discounted rate!

Non-members can join AATIA before registering and register for the discounted AATIA member rate. AATIA members please log in before registering to get the member discount.

Registration fees

  • AATIA members (early-bird): $95
  • Non-members (early-bird): $125
  • AATIA members (after June 1st): $125
  • Non-members (after June 1st): $150

If you have questions or have any trouble registering, please contact Laura at workshops@aatia.org
